Seaside Eggs

  • Egg, 6"
Other Materials
  • Assorted small shells and/or tumbled sea glass pie
  • Latex tile adhesive
  • Beach sand, small amount


  • Ruler
  • Wooden skewer
  • Small disposable bowl
  • Metal teaspoon
  • Plastic wrap
  • Palette knife


  • 1. Mix a few teaspoons of sand into small amount of latex
    adhesive in disposable bowl. Note: To prevent adhesive from
    drying out, cover bowl with plastic wrap when not in use.
  • 2. Insert skewer into bottom of foam egg. Holding skewer, use
    palette knife to spread 1/4"-thick layer of adhesive onto
    small area of egg.
  • 3. Push shells or sea glass firmly into wet adhesive,
    positioning pieces as close together as possible. Repeat to
    cover entire egg. Place skewer in heavy glass or jar to dry
    completely. Remove skewer.
