Seaside Eggs

  • Egg, 6"
Other Materials
  • Assorted small shells and/or tumbled sea glass pieces
  • Latex tile adhesive
  • Beach sand, small amount


  • Ruler
  • Wooden skewer
  • Small disposable bowl
  • Metal teaspoon
  • Plastic wrap
  • Palette knife


  • 1. Mix a few teaspoons of sand into small amount of latexadhesive in disposable bowl. Note: To prevent adhesive fromdrying out, cover bowl with plastic wrap when not in use.
  • 2. Insert skewer into bottom of foam egg. Holding skewer, usepalette knife to spread 1/4"-thick layer of adhesive ontosmall area of egg.
  • 3. Push shells or sea glass firmly into wet adhesive,positioning pieces as close together as possible. Repeat tocover entire egg. Place skewer in heavy glass or jar to drycompletely.
