To search for multiple words, separate them with spaces.
A space between two words acts the same as an or operator.
Example - polyurethane polyolefin
finds pages that have both polyurethane AND polyolefin in them
To search for an exact phrase, surround it with quotation marks.
Example - “chemical processing”
finds pages that have that EXACT PHRASE
A minus sign (-) immediately preceding a search term (word or phrase) excludes documents containing the term.
Example - “adhesive resins” -experimental
finds pages that have adhesive resins, but NOT experimental, in them
dow.com searches are NOT case sensitive. All letters, regardless of how you type them, will be understood as lower case.
Example - the following searches return the same results:
  • Voranol Voractiv
  • VORANOL VORACTIV
  • VorAnOl vOrAcTiV
  • voranol voractiv
To search with plain language, enter a question or concept.
Example - Which Acrylates are monomers and which are polymers?
finds the same pages as this search: Acrylates monomers polymers
